Humans rely on sentient robots and genetically modified crops to survive in this harsh landscape. There is no government, only local gangs and two major technological corporations (CorpStates), locked in a cold war, each lacking the means to destroy the other… for now. Much of the continent was transformed into a deadly irradiated desert following a nuclear war known as the Fall. Truel1f3 returns to the gritty, post-apocalyptic world of the Yousay in this third and final instalment of the soft sci-fi Lifel1k3 series. And one day soon, those hands will close. Truel1f3 delivers a satisfying conclusion to Jay Kristoff’s dystopian Lifel1k3 series, a tale of love, sacrifice and betrayal. 6/12/2023 0 Comments The borden tragedy by rick geary![]() ![]() ![]() While the narrator purports to be a confidant of Lizzie's, there are no great secrets revealed - no intimate details, no sensational confessions, not even a transcript of the jailhouse visit. Geary immediately jumps into the action, describing the sweltering heat of that fateful August and introducing the Bordon family at a distance as the story remains true to our narrator's point of view. (The narrator is based on an unpublished memoir from a resident of Fall River that was discovered in 1990.) Fantastically drawn in black and white, the frames reminded me of old newspaper drawings. The graphic novel follows a unnamed lifelong friend of Lizzie Bordon as she attempts to make sense of how such a tragedy not only befell her friend, but came to be blamed on her as well. ![]() 6/12/2023 0 Comments Kiersten white hide![]() ![]() The story follows all 14 characters and can be a bit confusing early on. There are a lot of mysteries to unravel with this one, and each reveal created more understanding, but also more questions. The contestants don’t realize what they are entering, and so there’s a time frame of unknowingly playing the game before realization dawns for them. ![]() I absolutely loved the situation for this one. What starts out as a fun game of Hide and Seek soon turns deadly. The 14 contestants don’t have a ton of details about this new mysterious game, but they know that there’s money for the winner at the end, and for these people, that’s enough. ![]() Which brings me to Hide, a story of 14 contestants entered in a game of Hide and Seek at an abandoned amusement park. Seriously, if there is a story where people are forced to fight against each other or against “something” to survive in a “locked-room” environment, I just can’t help but love it! I’m a sucker for a storyline where many enter and few will survive □. ![]() 6/11/2023 0 Comments The magic summer noel streatfeild![]() ![]() ![]() In 28 September 1936, when Ballet Shoes was published, it became an immediate best seller.Īccording to Angela Bull, Ballet Shoes was a reworked version of The Whicharts. The Drawing Lesson is a graphic novel that – as it’s tagline states – ‘Teaches You How to Draw.’ The book tells the story of a boy named David who likes to draw but wants to get better. He happens along a woman named Becky in the park and sees her drawing her surroundings. Instead of offering up just anther step-by-step instructional guide of various drawing techniques, Crilley decides to employ his own ability to help readers develop theirs. While there are a lot drawing books out there, none of them are quite like The Drawing Lesson by Mark Crilley. Often we turn to art books to try and hone our craft. Drawing can be hard – and we are often our harshest critics. What was once fun quickly becomes trying as we struggle to meet our own expectations of our artistic talent. Unfortunately, a lot of us end up falling out of practice or getting discouraged as we get older. As kids we spend hours drawing and doodling in crayon without a care in the world.
